If you're looking for an older, more detailed surficial geologic map of a particular quadrangle, we recommend using the National Geologic Map Database (http://ngmdb.usgs.gov) and the USGS Publications Warehouse (http://pubs.usgs.gov). We also recommend MassDEP's Hydrogeologic Information Matrix for finding the most recent USGS publications for a given town in Massachusetts (http://www.mass.gov/eea/docs/dep/water/compliance/hydromat.pdf
